Booking Now for Chamber Mailings
2012 is a year of many changes at your Chamber. Our look is changing, and we are creating new events
to give you more opportunity to meet face to face with your potential clients. This year we are sending out 4 mailings, half of what was sent last year. This makes for a more relevant and comprehensive compilation of information for and from our members. We limit the number of inserts, so don't miss out. March 7th is the first followed by June, September and our Directory mailing in December. Book two or more for great savings. It's still a great way to get your message heard! Call Patricia at 905-522-1151 ext. 240 or 905-818-1173 or e-mail p.dieryck@hamiltonchamber.on.ca. Click here for more information and member rates.

Diversity Works - Global Experience @Work
The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce Diversity Works program celebrated another success on January 31, 2012. Eight newcomers graduated from the second session of the Business Mentoring Program following a four month initiative. The business mentoring program is one component of Diversity Works project that is funded through the Ontario Chamber of Commerce by the Governments of Ontario and Canada.
This new program matches mentors from the local businesses community with newcomers wishing to start a business or who are seeking employment opportunities in Hamilton. In addition, the program provides free HR services to local companies interested in recruitment, hiring and integration of global talent and diversity in the workplace.
Five mentees joined the second session to receive support from the program in order to develop and start-up their own businesses. Three mentees were able to develop their business plan, marketing plan and register their businesses. Another six mentees joined the program to develop career plans and secure employment opportunities. Four mentees received professional training and developed professional resumes and cover letters and connected with potential employers, and three mentees secured jobs. The program also graduated the first group of eleven skilled newcomers in February, 2011.
In summary:
Eleven mentees joined the program
Eight graduated:
-Three businesses developed and established
-Three mentees secured jobs.
