Dear Friends and Supporters of Boys Hope Girls Hope,


As we begin the summer season we have a lot to share with you regarding our program.


Let me begin by bringing your attention to a special auction item to benefit Boys Hope Girls Hope. We have 4 concert tickets from Katy Perry's collection including backstage access and a meet and greet.

 

The Date and Time of the Concert is Wednesday June 15, 2011 8:00 PM

Event Location :Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia Maryland

Our 4 tickets are currently bid at $1000!

Get your bids in to jrobinson@bhgh.org before 4 PM on Monday June 6th (we will keep you updated as the bidding process moves forward). 

Also help us spread the word! Forward the information on these tickets to anyone who might be interested in them and post this short video on Facebook.

 

As you can see from the picture above, three young men are graduating from our program.They are excited about their upcoming plans for college. Dwayne Thomas , who is graduating from Loyola Blakefield and will be attending Loyola University in the fall recently wrote a heartfelt thank you letter to the supporters and friends of Boys Hope Girls Hope.click here to read letter


The scholars are finishing up the year strong, and looking forward to their summers.We have scholars doing internships , attending writing camps, Girl Scout camps, sports camps, and other enriching activities.We also have new scholars  moving into the boys and girls houses  this summer.Please join us in welcoming our new Boys Hope Girls Hope Scholars. We are excited about new children joining this family and helping them reach their potential. In their beginning phases, gift cards from Target and Walmart are much appreciated so we can take them shopping for their basic clothing needs.

 

Finally, stay posted to hear news from us on our anniversary event on July 30th .We will be celebrating the one year anniversary of the Girls House build!

 

As always , we are so blessed to be part of a life changing experience.We are also grateful for the generosity of self and spirit relected in our supporters and friends.Thank you.

A Residential  Counselor with Unique Qualifications

Ashley

Ashley Keller has much to offer in her position as residential counselor at the Girls House in Baltimore. In 2008 she graduated from St Louis University with a degree in Sociology and a concentration in African American studies. Currently she is working towards a master's degree in social work at the University of Maryland. She also has something else which makes her uniquely qualified for this position.In 1998 as a 12 year old 7th grader, she herself became a scholar in the Boys Hope Girls Hope program in her hometown of Cincinnati and remained there until college. She knows what the program can do to change a life for the better. She has lived that dream herself.
 

A Special Thanks to  Mark Foster and Cari Clemens from Second Chance for donating all the furniture needed for the basement in the Boys House.


Basketball is one of the favorite pastimes at the Boys House and we could really use a concrete secure basketball hoop so they can continue to play the game.Please contact knorbert@bhgh.org if you can help.
