Exposure to molds (allergen) can cause cold-like symptoms, watery eyes, sore throat, wheezing and dizziness, and trigger asthma attacks.
Mold is ubiquitous (common) in all continents across the globe. When exposed to mold the majority of the population can handle low-level exposure, but the problem with mold is that it multiplies exponentially when it has access to moisture and organic substrates like building materials, food, soil, wood, paper, leaves and fabric. Exposure to molds (allergen) can cause cold-like symptoms, watery eyes, sore throat, wheezing and dizziness, and trigger asthma attacks.
Mold spores are microscopic in nature (typically less than 5 microns) and can easily be airborne and...

Calls For Oversight Grow as U.S. Meningitis Death Toll Mounts Fungal Meningitis Death Toll at 12... |
by Tim Ghianni | Reuters - U.S. Health
NASHVILLE, Tennessee - The toll from the outbreak of fungal meningitis tied to contaminated steroid shots that has killed 12 people in the United States was expected to grow on Wednesday, raising pressure for stricter oversight of a largely unregulated corner of the pharmaceutical world.
On Tuesday, four more deaths were reported and Florida became the latest state to report at least one death linked to the illness in a widening health scare.
Since the September 25 recall of three lots of a steroid produced by a Massachusetts company, the outbreak has spread to 10 states and infected 124 people...
...The other states with cases are Indiana (15), Florida (6), Minnesota (3), North Carolina (2), Ohio (1) and New Jersey (1).

One County Employee is Dying as Mold-Related Illness Case Heads to Trial |
by Sara Rubin | SPORE HOUSE - Monterey County Weekly
Beverly Forest's lawyer wasn't sure Forest would be able to endure the hours of questioning.
In a June 6 email, plaintiffs' attorney Gordon Stemple warned defending attorneys that Forest would be arriving for a deposition in a wheelchair, with an oxygen tank and a nurse attendant, and would require frequent bathroom breaks.
Beverly Forest is suffering from a compromised immune system and other complications from radiation for cancer. She's been in and out of hospitals for six months, weighs 100 pounds and is dying. Her lawyers worry she won't survive long enough to see the conclusion of a two-year-old lawsuit that claims a moldy office environment at the District Attorney's office exacerbated her condition.

Three cases have been reported in Virginia, two in Maryland, two in Florida and one in North Carolina. Two of the deaths were in Tennessee; Virginia and Maryland had one each, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.

Mold Problem Won't Hold up Guantanamo Trials |
The Associated Press | HamptonRoads.com & PilotOnline.com
It appears a mold and rat problem at Guantanamo won't delay planned legal proceedings in a terrorism case.
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - A military judge has ordered the government to ensure offices used by defense lawyers on the U.S. base in Cuba are free of unhealthy mold and rat droppings. If not, the government must find suitable office space elsewhere.
Lawyers for an alleged terrorist have said the office air quality is so bad it sickened members...
