New Orleans --- Hurricane Isaac may not have the same impact that Hurricane Katrina had seven years ago, though it is heading on the same path that will likely make landfall in New Orleans, Louisiana this Thursday as a category 2 hurricane. Wind damage will be significant, but the real threat is flooding, water damage and subsequent microbial contamination.

A downtown Chicago hotel is spreading the message to recent guests that they may have been exposed to a bacteria that causes respiratory infections.
Three recent cases of a fast-spreading, sometimes fatal disease have been traced to the JW Marriott hotel at 151 W. Adams St., the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Family Sues Over Mold in Va. Military Housing

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Another mold-related lawsuit has been filed against the company that manages rental housing for military families in Hampton Roads.
Natasha Chaparro and her husband, Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Angel Manuel Chaparro-Mendoza, claim in their lawsuit that mold in their townhouse near Norfolk Naval Station sickened their family.
The lawsuit seeks $3.7 million in damages from Lincoln Military Housing.
An attorney for Lincoln, Connie Bertram, tells The Virginian-Pilot that a minimal amount of mold was found in the family's residence. She says the company addressed the mold immediately.

Quebec's public health authority announced that Legionnaires' disease had caused two more deaths and infected two other people since Saturday.
To date, 104 people have contracted the disease in Quebec City since July 31st. So far, eight people have died from complications related to the illness.
The bacteria tends to grow in stagnant water and can be found in cooling towers and fountains.
On Saturday, regional director of public health François Desbiens said 89 cooling towers have been inspected and disinfected in Quebec's Lower Town, an area considered at high risk. It's the oldest part of the city...
