How to Control Mold? ...Don't Push the Envelope!

Buildings in the north should not blow and
buildings in the south should not suck.

Building-Science-3Green News (WooEB)

The children were part of the Cincinnati Childhood Allergy and Air Pollution Study (CCAAPS), a long-term population-based study that included more than 700 children from...

S.D. to Hand out Special Masks for Mold Clean-up

Sioux City Journal

PIERRE, S.D. - Gov. Dennis Daugaard says the state Department of Health is distributing 50,000 special respirator masks to help homeowners with cleanup in 40 counties where flood disaster declarations are in place, including Clay, Union and Yankton counties.

The state acquired the masks during the H1N1 flu response, but the respirator masks are also recommended during flood cleanup to limit exposure to mold. High levels of exposure to some molds can cause illness in susceptible people. Typical symptoms include nasal and sinus congestion, eye irritation, dry or hacking cough, nose or throat irritation, and skin rashes or irritation...
