Taking "Going Green" to a Whole New Level

Home News (TransWorldNews)

Punta Gorda, FL --Pure Air Control Services a national leading IAQ service provider has taken Going GREEN to a whole new level. PureSteam-300x250-Tiles.jpg Most chemical companies today, large and small, are anxious to become greener. They select greener starting materials and use cleaner chemical processes to make environmentally preferred products though there is no authoritative marketplace criteria to identify green, greener, or greenest.  The greenest and cleanest cleaning solution available today for cleaning of air conditioning coils is PURE-Steam, a no chemical cleaning process that creates significant energy savings, improves the environment and promotes healthy indoor air quality...

In spite of years of studies, demonstration programs, and published stories to the contrary, most facility organizations today still operate in a reactive mode. Though facility executives know that is far better to schedule maintenance activities using planned and predictive maintenance tools, most continue to spend the bulk of their resources operating reactively. The most common reasons cited for this is the lack of sufficient resources.

This approach to maintenance with respect to HVAC systems is particularly troubling given the role that HVAC systems play in today's facilities. HVAC systems in typical commercial buildings are responsible for more than 40 percent of total energy use. Keeping HVAC systems running properly and at peak efficiency is the first step in managing facility energy use...

Mold Found in Six Sioux Falls Elementary Schools Air conditioners off during weekend of hot, sticky weather...

by Josh Verges | ArgusLeader.com A GANNETT COMPANY

Sioux Falls school officials are blaming unusually high heat and humidity for the growth of mold in six elementary schools.

Discovery and R.F. Pettigrew had the most serious problem. Mold was found in about five classrooms in both schools, said Jeff Kreiter, the school district's operational services director. Small patches of mold also were found at John Harris, Mark Twain, Hayward and Harvey Dunn.

The fungi were found between Friday and Tuesday on classroom carpets and some walls. The affected areas have been cleaned thoroughly and air tests have been ordered, Kreiter said...

Mold Count in Midwest Peaks Due to Extreme Heat

Source: Loyola University Health System

"Today's mold count for the Midwest was 30,000, just 10,000 short of the threshold for an alert warning," said Joseph Leija, MD, the allergist who performs the Gottlieb Allergy Count, the official allergy count for the Midwest for the National Allergy Bureau. "This is the highest mold count I have seen this year."

Newswise - Melrose Park Ill. - A record 7 inches of rain combined with the spate of 100-plus-degree days has spawned the highest mold count recorded for the year, just short of an air pollution warning.

And that is just for the air outdoors...
