Allergy and immunological disorders are identified as one of the most important health concerns of modern time. The number of people suffering from these types of ailments is growing day by day. An estimated 22% of the population is suffering from some form of allergic disease (this data is based on a survey conducted in 33 different countries and over 1.39 billionedlab2.jpg people). This situation is alarming because at present, the ratio of allergy specialists and sufferers are ranging from 1:25 million to 1:16,000. This emphasizes the need to create a workforce equipped with technical knowledge and cutting age technology to combat allergy and immunological disorders and/or their clinical management.

Tribeca Tenants Sue for $64M Over Mold

Two Tribeca painters have filed a $64 million lawsuit against their former landlord, charging that he purposely allowed toxic mold to grow inside their 15 Jay Street loft in an attempt to oust them from the pad they'd occupied for more than 30 years. According to the Post, John Bowman and his wife, Ann Shostrom, claimed in a suit filed yesterday that the landlord, Jay Hudson LLC, did nothing to address the mold in their apartment after a November 2008 leak caused the ceiling to collapse. Both Bowman and Shostrom later developed breathing and vision problems, "inadvertent body jerking" and liver damage as a result of the exposure to "dangerous molds,"...

Bottled Water Recalled After Mold Found in Shipment

Building-Science-3LITTLE ROCK, AR - FDA has issued a recall for bottled water in Arkansas that has a nationwide distribution as Mountain Pure Water.

 

The company announced a voluntary recall of lots marked with a four-digit code. The time code is written in military time, and the affected time period is from 2200 through 0400.

 

The code is etched into the plastic bottles of water. The affected product...

Air Duct Cleaning Companies Must Pay $1.7 Million

Two Bloomfield-based air duct cleaning companies, which are no longer operating, have been ordered to pay more than $1.7 million in civil penalties for bait-and-switch tactics, according to the state Division of Consumer Affairs.

State Superior Court Judge Harriet Farber Klein, presiding in Essex County, ordered United Air Care and Indoor Air Care to pay the penalty as well as $68,000 in restitution to consumers...
