People in the UAE spend considerable time indoors - either at home, in the office or in shopping malls. This exposes them to indoor pollutants that have the potential to cause considerable damage to health.

 

According to the  World Health Organisation, exposure to air pollutants happens through inhalation of indoor air and this could lead to Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) and Legionnaires. Several studies confirm the relationship between indoor air quality and the occupants' health, yet its seriousness is mostly undermined.

Three Broward County judges have moved their chambers so the court can be tested for mold or asbestos following the death of a fellow judge from lung cancer.

Worried that Judge Cheryl Alemán's surprising death last month from lung cancer may be linked to mold or asbestos contamination in the aged Broward County Courthouse, three judges have moved their chambers and requested environmental testing.
 
Judges Susan Greenhawt, Patti Englander Henning and Mily Rodriguez Powell, Alemán's neighbors on the ninth floor, moved Friday to temporary second-floor offices.old shut down the Governor's residence for 10-days, causing a number of events to be rescheduled, including the Young Caymanian Leadership Award.

4 Air Filters Linked to Improved Cardiovascular Health picUsing a simple air filter could help prevent cardiovascular disease - the leading cause of death in the United States, suggests a study published Friday in American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.

 

When researchers from Canada placed high efficiency particle air (HEPA) filters in homes, the improved air quality also improved the health of the participants' blood vessels.
