Mold in Schools: A Health Alert
by Arnold Mann - Reprint

1 Mold in Schools: A Health AlertLast December, USA WEEKEND reported on a Texas family driven from their new home by mold. The story drew an unusually large response from readers, government officials and other media. Somersworth Apartment Tenants Concerned About Mold File Complaint with USDA
Clean Duct Work Improves Health & Saves Energy - BRS; 800-422-7873by Kyle Stucker

SOMERSWORTH - Tenants at Cherryfield Village, a development complex off Main Street, are concerned recent fixes to one of their buildings won't fully rid the facility of mold like property managers anticipate.

Instead, some of those tenants are concerned two individuals displaying illnesses with symptoms "identical" to those related to inhaling mold spores will get sicker and sicker as tenants try to get full intervention from the managers and the state, according to Lisa Willard, who lives in Unit 4 at Cherryfield Village.

Mold shut down the Governor's residence for 10-days, causing a number of events to be rescheduled, including the Young Caymanian Leadership Award.

Mold was found in areas close to the air-conditioning vents, which was caused by a malfunctioning unit which had created a higher than normal amount of condensation.

The Governor and his family were forced to stay in a hotel until the residence underwent a deep clean of the affected areas.  Dehumidifiers were also brought in to remove excess moisture from the air. The malfunctioning air-conditioning unit was also repaired.

Judicial Building Has Mold, Collapsed Ceiling  Rutherford County Court Documents Destroyed by Rain Leak
Intimidated by IAQ pureair2Reported by Larry Flowers

It didn't take long for newly elected Rutherford County Circuit Court Clerk Laura Bohling to notice all the problems at the Rutherford County Judicial Court Building.

"I'm not just talking about general cleanup. Here we have this beautiful, historic building that has been left to fall in such an incredible state of disrepair," said Bohling. "There are several vents that have some type of black stuff on them. In other parts of the building, it's been identified as mold."
