Josh Project Persuades Reich to Dress as Kool-Aid Man
|
The RUSVM Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association continues to raise money in support of the Josh and Friends Project through its coin fundraiser. The project raised more than EC$2,700 in support of the children who are hospitalized in St. Kitts. The winning class committed Dr. Reich to lecture as the Kool-Aid Man. |More|

Cheryl Cumberbatch, Director of the RUSVM Library, has been approved by the Credentialing Committee for membership in the Academy of Health Information Professionals by the Medical Library Association. The academy recognizes professional performance and contributions to the profession.
Carla Rodrigues, 4th semester student, received a 2010 New Jersey Veterinary Foundation No-Interest Loan. She is the featured recipient on the Foundation's Web page.
Esteban Soto, PhD, presented "Emergent Bacterial Disease in Warm-water Fish" as an invited speaker at the 26th Caribbean Veterinary Medical Association Meeting in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. |

| Print Kiosks Are Coming in January
There will be 14 new print stations located across campus when the final installation is complete. Students will be able to print to the kiosks from their personal computers and pick up (immediately or hours later) the document at any of the print stations on campus by inputting their login/password combination.

 Kizzy Dedier, joins RUSVM as the new Human Resource Generalist. Dedier will will have responsibilities in various areas of HR. She brings several years of experience in the HR profession to RUSVM.
W encke DuPlessi, DVM, joins RUSVM as an Associate Professor in the Structure and Function Section. Du Plessis has published several papers on veterinary imaging and earned her DMedVet at the Free University of Berlin. She will be a part of the teaching team in 5th Semester's Diagnostic Imaging course. |Du Plessis' Profile|

 Tracey Gibbs, was hired as Day Care/Preschool teacher within the RUSVM Preparatory School. Gibbs has previous training in early childhood development.

 Maliha Hassan, has been hired as the Director of Diagnostic Laboratory and will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the lab. She is board certified as a medical technologist and clinical lab scientist.

Jessica Heller, has been hired as a Technical Research Associate in the Research Department.

Lionel Paul, transferred to Security Driver within the Safety and Security Department. He previously served as a Campus Patrol Officer. Hudon McDonald, joins the Safety & Security Department as Security Driver.
Valdine Sanders, was hired as a Lab Technician Assistant in the Clinical Skills Laboratory. She completed her internship at RUSVM.

Mackiema Smith, joins the Veterinary Teaching Hospital team as a Pharmacy Assistant.
Phil Smith, was hired as the Director of the Learning Resource Center. Smith manages the overall operation of the entire LRC, including the Examination Center. He brings experience as a professional member of the British Computer Society equivalent to a degree in Information Systems.

Vernon Taylor, joins the Safety & Security Department as Mobile Patrol Specialist.
Sean Tyrell, was hired as a Campus Patrol Officer in the Safety & Security Department.

RUSVM would like to thank the following individuals for their service to the University and wish them well in their future endeavors.
Natalie Keirstead, DVM, PhD, will be leaving a the end of the December after three years of service. She has taken a position as Associate Professor at the School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences in the University of Adelaide (South Australia). Her husband, John, will be pursuing a PhD in fish immunology at the same institution.
Matt McMillan, served as Technical Research Associate in the Research Department. He is heading back to Colorado, where he received his degree in landscape architecture (Colorado State), with his fiancee who is moving into her clinical year.
Martin Zibrin, is retiring at the end of the semester after three years of service. He is returning to Kosice, Slovakia to enjoy time with his family.
