What would it really be like to make the move to a retirement community? One year ago, RiverWoods opened The Boulders, and more than 80 people moved in and began forming a community. This is your chance to hear directly from them about what their experiences were like- what surprised them, what was new to them and how they would advise you regarding your own plans. A lively question and answer session will be included, as well as a luncheon and a brief tour.

RiverWoods Named 2011 Business of the Year
RiverWoods was awarded the "Business of the Year" in the category of health care from The Exeter Chamber of Commerce this month. The award is presented to businesses who have flourished, but have also given back to the communities they serve.

This criteria makes the award particularly meaningful for RiverWoods. Our residents, staff and board have all earned this award with their commitment to both our RiverWoods community and the Greater Exeter Community. This is what makes RiverWoods special, and I congratulate everyone on this accomplishment.

RiverWoods Residents Publish Book on WWII 
75 RiverWoods residents have published a book on World War II, called "The War We Knew; RiverWoods Remembers WWII." The book includes poignant stories from the home front and abroad and features many personal photographs. Many of the stories have not been told in years. Some of the stories have never been shared. This important book project is garnering interest from media outlets all over the country- in part because RiverWoods residents coordinated every aspect of the book, from initial resident surveys and interviews, all the way to design and final approval. All profits from the sale of the book go to the RiverWoods Benevolent Fund.

A 30 second ad featuring RiverWoods residents is now playing on the big screen at the Regal Fox Run movie theatre in Newington, NH. The spot runs during the 'First Look' preview segment just prior to all movies. Keep an ear out for our residents and staff. They may be cheering during the previews!

Lured by balmy temps in the 50s, Alan and I managed to hike the entire two-mile length of the Woods' trail system aided by our trusty hiking poles (which have saved us from many an inglorious sprawl in our 20+ years of hiking together).
Stopping at the Falls Lookout we admired the foaming whitewater and agreed we would not have wanted to run our canoe through the barely concealed rocks there...
