President's Letter

Plan Your Holistic Reunion
I just came back from a big family reunion, and I know your first question: "Ooh boy, was that really fun, or was it really difficult?" I'm happy to say it was a blast! My family gets along very well, and we move together extremely fluidly for a group of 12 people, consisting of three generations of needs, energy levels and physical capabilities. I was flooded with a new set of heartwarming memories of my wonderful family to take home with me.

| Executive Director's Letter | |
Make Your Holistic Name Count by Steve Cadwell
" Are your members certified to practice holistic medicine?" We get that. A lot. Before reading on: what does your public AHMA profile say about you? Does it accurately reflect who you are? Your area of expertise? Information about your education and credentials, relevant certification? Your approach to patient care? How would someone know enough about you to want to make an appointment to see you?

| Dr. Gladys Update | Last month, Gladys McGarey, an AHMA co-founder, was coming down the stairs and missed the last step. She took a nasty fall that caused a fracture in her left leg and a bad sprain in her right ankle. Dr. Gladys, 91, has a boot on her broken foot and is using a wheelchair to get around. She is doing amazingly well and is ready to challenge others to wheelchair races and wheelie exhibitions! She welcomes everyone's prayers for a speedy and complete healing. If you'd like to send her your best wishes, email Dr. Gladys at gladys@mcgareyfoundation.org |

Holistic
Medicine
And You Need Each Other
|
You know why you joined AHMA. You know why you practice medicine as you do. More and more, people - your patients - are looking for the integrative, holistic approach to managing their health. We realized (again) at last year's retreat, The Healer Within, that you, as well as each member, need one another to remain whole, healthy, and able to help others. AHMA doesn't have chapters in every state, however, we want to help you connect with like-minded professionals whenever and wherever possible. So please, help us help you. If you want to start a chapter in your area, please contact Natalie Talis; bookmark our calendar and check it often to find helpful events and opportunities to earn CMEs or other applicable education credits. To place events on our calendar that others might benefit from, send an email to Natalie. Thanks for helping us connect you with other members!
