Holiday Recipe for Sharing Holistic Medicine
AHMA's December theme is all about planning and collaborating in three major areas: programs, membership and website development. Our board and staff are fully engaged!
Building on the successful October retreat, "The Healer Within," and on AHMA's recent trend toward collaborating with friends to co-host integrative medicine conferences, AHMA will host or co-host as many as a half-dozen retreats or medical-conference / workshops next year.

| AHMA Headquarters Moves to New Location | |
Our new digs!
The week after Thanksgiving was a busy one for AHMA staff as we moved to a brighter (we have windows!) and more spacious office suite a few miles from our old home. The new space features five offices and a large conference room space which can be used for meetings and classes.
To generate additional revenue and offset our rental expense, we are considering leasing the large conference space on an as-needed basis to local members (at a reduced rate) and to the public. More details about this to come.
If you're ever in Cleveland, OH, we invite you to drop by and visit us. We'd love to share our new space with you! |
Call For Research Grant Proposals in Energy Psychology
| |
The Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology (ACEP) is an international nonprofit organization of licensed mental health professionals and allied energy health practitioners who are dedicated to developing and applying energy psychology methods for the treatment and relief of those suffering from emotional challenges.
Part of ACEP's Mission is to 'move EP into the mainstream' of clinical practice, by collecting and publishing evidence for the efficacy of EP modalities. It is ACEP's goal to upgrade EP modalities to the categories of 'probably efficacious' and 'well-established treatments,' as set forth by the APA Division 12 Task Force on Promotion & Dissemination of Psychological Procedures.
Proposals for original empirical research studies are invited in the field of Energy Psychology. These may include applications of EP to such conditions as anxiety, depression, PTSD, chronic pain, weight loss, etc. Researchers are encouraged to use standardized psychological assessments, such as the BAI, PAI, BDI, SA-45, SCL-90, CAPS, etc. ACEP is especially interested in studies documenting changes in physiological correlates such as cortisol, DHEA levels, HRV, EEG, etc. Completed studies will be submitted for publication.
Three grants will be awarded up to $5,000. Additionally, those applicants who do not receive an award may be eligible for free technical support/assistance for their project. Submission deadline is March 1, 2012.
