We are excited to offer three opportunities for you to learn more about the school and your child. Please see the detailed descriptions below. Reading 101 Everything you wanted to know about reading at Lamplighter
October 12 - Kindergarten and First Grade Parents October 14 - Second, Third, and Fourth Grade Parents Each session will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the Auditorium
During this session you will learn about the skills and content of our reading program from Kindergarten through Fourth Grade. Assistant Head for Academics Vicki Raney Kindergarten Teacher Kristie Clark, and Third Grade Teacher Jody Stout will cover key reading concepts such as phonics, fluency, comprehension, and guided reading groups. Counselor Jill Wiedman will explain several reading assessments, including in-house materials and ERBs. Academic Language Specialist June Landry will give parents tips for supporting their child's reading at home.

The Important Work of Childhood A four-part series led by Judy Gass, Interim Head of School

In this workshop we will discuss how to balance our responsibility
to treasure and protect childhood and at the same time give our children
opportunities to learn responsibility, service to others, resilience, and sense
of purpose. During the weekly sessions

Raising Cain Book Club Bring a brown bag lunch and join as as we discuss this powerful book
