Your Tights, Headpieces and

Make-up
The details make the difference

 Madison

Be sure to get your tight sizing forms this Saturday.  Orders will only be taken till Saturday June 11, 2011 and will be given out the following week.

If you were not in Cinderella or in competition team, you are due a pair of tights that were included in your costume fee.  Please give us the size you want or we will go ahead and order the same size as your costume.

If you were in Cinderella or received a dance team costume, you were given the appropriate tights for your costumes.  If you you do not have these, please order new ones at our discounted prices.  Tights from other vendors will not look like the ones we use and the difference will show on stage taking away from the professional polish.  Please order your tights through the studio.

Details on hair, make-up and how to secure head pieces will be given out the last week of classes.  Generally so that facial expressions will show under bright, professional lights dancers should wear red lipstick, blush and if your dancer will allow you to apply it, black mascara.

All headpieces must be secured with bobby pins even if they are on a comb.  Nothing is more distracting than a headpiece falling on stage during a dance.

If you are in an Academy level class, you must wear a bun for every number.  Pre-dance classes are up to the teacher how the hair may be worn.

All of the above information will also be e-mailed and on our website if you do not get your handout.

Dance Season 2011-2012

New Dance Season Begins

August 1, 2011

Samantha getting ready for Ballet 2012

Dance Season 2010-2011 will have it's grand finale with Recital 2011.  We will then have a break for the entire month of July.

Looking back at last year's statistics there are not enough students coming in July to remain open for that month.

Our new Dance Season 2011-2012 will begin August 1, 2011.  Any Academy student at any level who wants to do a solo in the January Ballet or wants to take part in the dance companies or dance teams must begin the dance season in August.

Students who are eligible for Ballet solos or dance company/teams will be invited with their recommendation in June.

Those students who return in August will also receive the following discounts:

Advanced students who may wear any black camisole leotard as their uniform will not be charged a registration fee.  If you do not return till September, a registration fee will apply.

All other levels who return in August will still receive their uniform with the registration fee.  If you do not return till September, there is a registration fee and Ballet 1 to 4 will also be charged a uniform fee.

The studio is undertaking an aggressive advertising campaign for the new dance season as well as holding an open audition for dance companies and teams but public registration will not begin till July.  Please follow your enrollment instructions carefully so that you get the class of your choice.

Summer Technique Private Lessons in July and August

Ezra as the Sugar Plum FairyOne of our most successful students Ezra who is again attending Bolshoi Ballet Academy started dance at what is considered a late age.  The talent was obvious but also the technical problems of starting late were obvious to a trained eye.  To put her on the path to a professional career Ezra took two years of private technique classes with Miss Leslie to catch up and that is exactly what happened.  If you are interested in taking one hour privates  Monday, Wednesday and Friday for 4 weeks with Miss Leslie in July or even August this would be the best thing you could do for your dancing.  We normally do a dance intensive in July but I was unable to get the space by the time we moved to our new facility.  Next year we'll have our intensive but for this year this would be an excellent opportunity to get a full month of one on one training.  Most professional dancers at some point in their training will have this kind of one on one coaching.  It is the best way to improve quickly.

Information will be given out to all Level 3 to 6 students on Saturday.
