In the public eye: recycling ramps up
ProAct staff and consumers collect recylcling cans and bottles at area convenience stores
ProAct is collecting bottles and cans for recycling in the south metro area.
A new effort to collect and sort beverage containers from south of the river convenience stores for recycling is in its first phase at ProAct, and plans are to expand it.

The "Message in a Bottle" program will increase employment opportunities and benefit the environment.  It was created in connection with the Recycling Association of Minnesota and the Minnesota Beverage Association.

At full capacity, ProAct expects to collect about a ton of plastic, glass and aluminum per year from each of up to 75 area convenience stores.

ProAct work coordinator Kevin Augustin is refining pickup and processing schedules and exploring additional materials that could be added to ProAct's recycling mix.

Banquets, awards fast approaching
Melissa Bruneau with Fairfield Inn and Suites accepts an "Employer of the Year" award in 2010.
ProAct's annual recognition banquets are just around the corner, the ever popular gatherings that highlight the achievements of participants.

Select organizations will be heralded for "Employer of the Year" recognition during the Recognition Banquet for the Eagan and Hudson locations. It returns to the Prom Center in Oakdale on the evening of October 5.

Treasure Island will again host the big event for the Red Wing and Zumbrota locations, which is scheduled for September 28 at 5:30 p.m.

Red Wing consumers joyfully receive certificates at a past banquet.

Near perfect weather and a fast moving game made this year's ProAct Golf Classic even more memorable, and particularly special for the Staples Financial Group, which took home the first place title.
