Greetings!
Weston and Westport made a good showing in May with sales up 25% and 27% compared to April. Fairfield was up 17%. Wilton and Norwalk lagged behind with lower sales from 23 to 25%. You can get all the market statistics (including average and median prices, list to sales price ratio, year to year comparisons, inventory, market times, price per sf) by going to our web site for the three page Market Action Report for each town. In all price ranges, it's the "shiny penny" that is winning out. More important than ever it is the house with the work done that is selling. We used to say to the seller "if you are not going to do the work then we need to price accordingly", a phrase more difficult to say today.
Maximize your return by putting a little money in from the start to achieve your financial goals. We can help you identify what buyers will be expecting to see.
This Sunday we are hosting an open house at 26 Hogan Trail in Westport from 1-3. It's a commuters dream, a short walk to the train station, and to the revitalized Saugatuck Center area of Westport. Stop by and say hello and tell your friends who might be interested in moving up this way.
As always we are here for you to answer any questions or concerns, or to do a no cost market evaluation of your home, please do not hesitate to reach out.
A Happy Father's Day to all the Dads.
