Independent School District 12, serving the communities of Blaine, Centerville, Circle Pines, Lexington, and Lino Lakes recently worked with Premier Lighting to significantly reduce energy and maintenance costs at their middle school, while also improving the attractiveness and brightness of the school's outdoor lighting.

Centennial Schools approached Premier Lighting with a problem they were having with the recessed metal halide wall packs that were installed on the middle school when it was built 10 years ago. The fixture contained a 150 watt metal halide which is rated to last about 20,000 hours and recessed into the brick about 6" making it time consuming to maintain. The school district was looking for something that would provide similar light levels, save energy, last longer and fit the look of the building.

Premier Lighting partnering with RAB came up with the solution of a 20 watt LED wallpack. This fixture provides equivalent light output, saves over 130 watts of energy per fixture, fits the look they wanted and lasts more than 2 times longer than the previous fixtures (50,000 hours)! There were a total of 24 wall packs replaced with the 20 watt LED wall pack fixture from RAB saving the school over $1,500/year in energy costs with a payback of less than 4 years.
