You don't have to be a state titleholder to experience the benefits of the Miss America's Outstanding Teen national competition. Sign up for MAOTeen's Teens in Training Camp to experience a behind-the-scenes look at the national pageant and what it takes to be a successful titleholder. Camp will be held during the Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageant in Orlando, Fl., August 14 - 18, 2012.

Teens in Training Camp is open to girls, ages 13 to 17, who may be interested in competing in the Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageant system or who are looking to improve upon skills that promote self-confidence and poise.
 

"Personally, as I move from a teen to an adult, I realize just how much I benefitted from the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Organization and how so many of the opportunities I was given were a result of my participation in MAOTeen. Now, I am thrilled to be giving other girls the chance to experience some of the same life-changing opportunities that I did," says Tawni Darby, Miss Pennsylvania's Outstanding Teen 2006 and the founder and director of Teens in Training Camp.

 

Participants will have the opportunity to attend professional workshops in interview, public speaking, on-camera and on-stage performance, modeling, photo posing, style, makeup, social media and public relations, all taught by leaders in their fields. In addition to professional training, participants will also enjoy a week full of exclusive opportunities.

• Learn how to capture the audience during your own onstage introduction at a Miss America's Outstanding Teen preliminary competition

Kim Parrish, President of the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Organization, says that the camp will be a wonderful learning and mentoring experience for teens. "Our goal is to provide a strong foundation for girls to gain information on skills such as interview, poise, presentation, networking and public relations, which will not only help them become the best contestants they can possibly be but will also guide them throughout their lives," says Parrish.
