The Feast of Saint Arnold is on Sunday, July 15

This is the return of the very successful event we held last year. It is part medieval feast, part fundraiser. The food alone will make this a very special evening. Toss in a cask of Divine Reserve No. 12 before its official release and it only gets better. Chef Scott CaArchive Headerstell of Saltgrass Steakhouse is returning to see if he can outdo his performance last year. From the looks of the menu, he will.

The real purpose of this event is to raise funds for Texas Children's Hospital IBD Center / Gastroenterology Clinic. Last year we raised $12,000. This year we want to go well past $15,000.

To help to this end, we are selling sponsor tables for $1,000 each (includes tickets for 8 people). We will plug your name shamelessly, plus you will have reserved seating which is a nice bonus the way we set up the hall. Also, this way you will be guaranteed tickets as the event sold out last year. We are accepting sponsorships beginning today. Single tickets will go on sale for $95 each in about a week. Considering how much you would pay for a mArchive Headeruch lesser dinner including tax and tip, this is a great value, and you are doing good!

Chef Castell is preparing all of the food using our beers as ingredients (and selling us the food at his cost for which we are greatly appreciative to Chef and the entire Landry's organization). If you talk to anybody who went to last year's event, you will discover that this is no eat-a-rubber chicken-while-wearing-a-monkey suit event. Personally we can attest this is the best food at a fundraiser we have ever experienced. And the feast-style presentation of the food makes this an event where you will become friends with all of your seat-mates.

The plan is to have you arrive at 5:00 PM, mingle and enjoy the special preview of DR12. At 5:45 prompt, the feast will commence. Utensils optional. Attire is brewery formal, which only precludes flip-flops.

Here is the menu:

Beef

Tenderloin Tips in Drunken Mushroom Gravy

over Red, White and Bleu Potatoes

Seafood

Hickory Smoked Ahi Tuna Bacon over Sweet Brined Apples,

Arugula, Haricot Verts and Oranges in a Rice Wine Vinaigrette

Finished with Shallot Cracklins

Pork

Orange and Anise slow roasted Pork Belly

over Apple Cider and Amber Ale braised Cabbage

Poultry

Roasted Drummettes of Chicken over Lentils and Couscous

topped with Weedwacker Mustard

Dessert

Beer Blondies

We will also have a couple of special items we will be auctioning off that evening.

Grand Opening of The King's Head Pub next Wednesday, June 20

 Archive Header

From the publican who brought you the Richmond Arms and the Stag's Head (and, for those of a certain age, the Ale House), he is now bringing you The King's Head Pub for all who live and/or work out west. To celebrate the opening, we will be on hand with a stash of DR10 bottles that have been aging in our cellar. We'll be happy to talk about DR10, the upcoming DR12 (no, it will not be available - it's still in the fermenters) and the meaning of life.

Date: Wednesday, June 20

Time: 6:00 PM till ?

Address: 1809 Eldridge Parkway

Dynamo Fan Gathering Before the Game on Wednesday, June 20

Come to Saint Arnold's for a special pre-game gathering to get ready for the Dynamo taking on the Toronto FC. It will be like a regular tour but from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Admission is $7. We'll kick you out so that you can make the 8:00 PM start of the game.

Thanks for all of your support! Hope you are having a great summer. Judging by how quickly you are drinking Summer Pils, we would say you are.

Cheers!
