Santo de Mayo Pub Crawl this Saturday, May 5

Our Midtown Pub Crawl is this Saturday, May 5, and we will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo with Santo de Mayo. Come adorned in your Santo-wear for extra special prizes. The prize for completing the pub crawl is our Santo pint glass. Here are the details:

Pub crawl will be open house format starting at 1 PM. We will be signing tickets at all five of the first five stops for four hours so people can split up between the establishments. You will get your ticket at whichever stop you decide to visit first. But, VERY IMPORTANT, we will only be handing out the tickets between 1 PM and 2 PM. Thus, you still need to start between 1 and 2. Then, at 5:00 PM, everybody will gather at one final stop and that is where we will award the Santo glasses. We will have a large supply so don't worry about not getting a glass. And as always, designated drivers are both eligible for the award and encouraged to attend. So here is the layout:

For legal reasons, we are only giving hints as to where we will be. Think you can decipher the code?

Between 1 PM and 5 PM:

500 block of Gray St: Imagine something larger than a pig flying

2300 block of Louisiana: A beer garden from the Emerald Isle

200 block of Gray St.: Where you wish you had a swing

2000 block of Bagby St.: A heavenly place to tailgate

2400 block of Brazos St.: What you will be doing and where you will be doing it.

The 5:00 PM final stop: 2300 block of Brazos: Anything owned by President Wilson when he was young.

Carlos Hernandez' limited edition (only 100 printed) pub crawl posters are available at the brewery for $15 while supplies last. Also, you may pre-order on-lineby clicking here by noon Friday and we will have your poster for you at the crawl. We will have it in a protective sleeve or roll.

#Tweetsforbeats at the Brewery Wednesday, May 9

This is a fundraiser for the other AHA: the American Heart Association. We are teaming up with the AHA to raise money for CPR education. Currently, only 36% of sudden cardiac arrests receive bystander CPR in Houston. With the association's CPR Anytime curriculum, anyone can learn the skills of CPR in about 20 minutes. Admission to the event will be $10 and a portion of the proceeds will go to the placement of CPR Anytime kits in the Houston area.

In addition to the normal fun of an evening event at the brewery, there is food donated by Roots Bistro and music by the Holly Hicks Band:

Here are the details:

Date:  Wednesday, May 9

Time: 6 PM to 8 PM

Admission: $10 at the door with a portion of the proceeds going to the AHA

This continues to be one of the best, if not the best, event to attend in Houston. Come on out and make a fun day of it. And wave to us as we pass in our tie dyed Bentley.

Advice #1: come early as the cars are arriving so you can walk up and down the street
to look at the cars up close and speak with the artists.

Advice #2: Support the parade and get the best seats in the house by getting your VIPit tickets: http://www.orangeshow.org/vipit/
