Rockin' Rollin' Prints at the Brewery on Sunday, April 15

What better way to learn about the art of printmaking than to watch a team of artists ink up 3' X 5' woodblocks with rollers and then have a three-ton steamroller roll over them?

PrintMatters, a local arts organization, will host their second annual ROCKIN' ROLLIN' PRINTS, a one-day steam roller printmaking event at Saint Arnold Brewery. This year's theme is "Wonderland." Over 60 artists from throughout Texas have been busy the last three months carving their boards. The prints will be on view from Noon to 3 PM. in the Saint Arnold Brewery Beer Hall.

Ryan O'Malley and Tyler Krasowski, formerly of Drive-By Press, will be printing t-shirts from hand-carved wood blocks.

There will be food trucks and music.

Fee: $10 (Includes souvenir glass. A commemorative glass created by Santo designer, Carlos Hernandez, to the first 250.)

We continue to work on holding fun events not just inside the loop. Next up, Alvin, TX! The Barbed Rose has been a hidden treasure in this little town south of Houston. We say this not just because of the support they have shown us. Their food is excellent! We'll post the menu on our website when it is finalized, but you may want to make reservations quickly as space is limited. Here are the details:

Volunteer Night on Thursday, April 12 at KUHF & KUHT  

On Thursday, April 12 we'll be helping KUHF & KUHA, Houston's local NPR affiliate and classical music stations, by manning the phones for their spring fundraising drive. We need 18 volunteers for this, so RSVP ASAP as the spots will go fast. After the shift, as a "thank you" we'll convene at a local house of refreshment where the first couple will be on us.
