Beat the Heat
Don't let the rising mercury keep you away. There are plenty of 'cool' things to do in southern Utah.
Day trips to higher elevations are a great way to beat the heat. Right in our own front yard and climbing to 8,000 feet, Kolob Reservoir offers hiking, fishing, kayacking, and napping. You won't even break a sweat.

Congratulations to our Pirate Party Winners
Summer vacations are about family and it was great to see entire families working together to build their very own pirate ships. Once the building was complete, the Armada sailed through the resort in the pirate parade. They finshed at the riverside park to burst a pinata.

What's Happening in the Area
Two of the nation's most beautiful outdoor amphitheaters are right here near Zion. The world-renowned Tuacahn Amphitheater is showing the broadway musicals Tarzan and Cats.
The Tanner Amphitheater has a full schedule in August with Saturday night concerts from Legends of Classic Country, Carrie Rodriguez & Luke Jacobs of Romantica, Claudia Russell Quartet, and Mike Tobian Jazz Band.
Come one, come all to the Washington County Fair August 11-14th for carnival rides, games, festive foods, entertainment, and award winning crops and livestock exhibits. Don't miss the rodeo and the demolition derby.
The 12th annual Western Legends Roundup is August 26-28th in Kanab, Utah. Kanab is known as "Little Hollywood" because of all the western movies and television shows filmed there through the 50's and 60's.
