Greetings!
Based on research the Coalition has conducted over the last several years with 8th-12th graders, we can confidently state the majority of youth in our community do make good choices and abstain from using alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. It is imperative to remain on this path and continued efforts of substance abuse prevention are just as important to sustain substance free youth. Our Youth Action Board (YAB) has developed a plan to reduce the use of alcohol, marijuana and prescription drugs abuse by their peers and those younger. Highlights from this plan include providing substance free events for youth and a greater presence in the schools and community. Our annual Youth Dialogue Day, CHOICES, will be held with a twist - an equal number of parents will be asked to attend and participate. the Coalition will continue its core programs andn campaigns, such as, "Be A Parent, Not A Pal," Parents Who Host Lose the Most," and "Family Day: A reminder to eat meals together as a family." We are also going to engage parents more directly in our mission. Our request is simple. We are asking for your financial support so the Coalition can continue its top priority of sustaining substance free youth in our community. Your financial support is so important right now due to an 85% loss of funding. To donate, visit our website, www.bbcoalition.org, and click on the donate button to utilize PayPal or mail your contribution to 1525 Covington Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48301.
Our goal is to fulfill the Coalition's mission to raise awareness and mobilize the entire community to prevent the abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs with a primary focus on our youth. What a great way to support our children and community!
Working together, with you, for substance free youth,
