County's Economic Development Strategy Discussed at November Lunch Exchange

Sumter's County's new economic development strategy will be the topic of the Wednesday, November 9, Chamber Lunch Exchange at Wildwood Country Resort.
Administrator Bradley Arnold and Director of Planning and Development Brad Cornelius will outline the county's new approach to attracting industry.

The Lunch Exchange begins at 11:30am. Wildwood Country Resort is at 1504 Heritage Blvd. in Wildwood. The cost to attend is $10 for members and $15 for non members
and RSVP is required. Email assistant@sumterchamber.org or call 352-793-3099 to reserve your seat. Don't forget to ask how to get 
premium exposure in the Member Midway.

Congratulations to 2011 Leadership Sumter County Graduates
Leadership 2011 Grads
Congratulations to the 2011 graduates of Leadership Sumter County. The class received their graduation plaques Thursday evening. The 2011 graduates are: Christine Burk, Dana Coleman, Desiree Coleman-Cohrn, Michael Eastburn, Don Hahnfeldt, Diane Lamb, Dustin Merritt, Rosie Renier, David Segrest, Billie Faye Smith, Diane Surratt, and John Temple
 
Do you know someone who has the right stuff to become a leader in Sumter County? Nominate them for Leadership Sumter County. Leadership Sumter County strengthens the Sumter community by training its leaders for the challenges of tomorrow. The program focuses on developing informed leaders and channeling their ideas and experiences toward community resources, including issues and concerns, so that they might help direct the future of Sumter County. Beef and Boogie Festival Update

The Beef and Boogie Festival begins Thursday, November 3, 6pm with the Miss Beef and Boogie Pageant. Then Friday evening and all day Saturday there will be live music, beef cookoffs, kids activities, exhibits, Cow Chip Bingo, food, craft and flea market vendors, a beer garden and more.

Tricia Bennett's second book in the Polly Brown trilogy, "The Trouble With Polly Brown" was released nationally on October 4th, and signed copies are now flying out of her restaurant, Polly's Pantry Royal Tearoom in Wildwood. Tricia was brought up in children's homes in the UK, and uses her experiences when writing. In her first book Polly, aged 11, ended up on a journey of self-discovery that took her all over the world. In this second novel Polly now turned 13, makes friends with a boy called Will, and finds herself having once more to be rescued. Read More Here>>
