Scenic Sumter Heritage Byway topic of Chamber Lunch Exchange

Efforts to establish the Scenic Sumter Heritage Byway will be the topic of the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce's next Lunch Exchange. The luncheon will be held on Wednesday, October 12. 11:30am at the NASCAR RV Resorts at Blueberry Hill, 6233 County Road 609 in Bushnell. Chamber seeking items for Silent Auction
"A Taste of Simply Sumter," Thursday, October 6, 5:30-8pm at Continental Country Club, 50 Continental Blvd. in Wildwood, is an evening of food, music and boutique shopping that celebrates the businesses that make Sumter County a wonderful place to live work and play.

The chamber is seeking donations of silent auction prizes from member businesses. Please contact the chamber at 352-793-3099 if you would like to donate a gift certificate or piece of merchandise to the auction to help raise funds for scholarships.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Funds raised from ticket sales and the silent auction will go for 2012 scholarships to seniors at South Sumter High School, Wildwood Middle-High School and The Villages Charter High School.

Scholarships available for fall Entrepreneurial Institute
 New and established business owners will benefit from Lake-Sumter Community College's Entrepreneurial Institute. The Institute, presented by the college' Business Resources Center, starts its next series of classes on October 5, in the Leesburg Campus' BRC Building. Chamber Members get half-off tuition, and a limited number of full scholarships are available. Brian Hudson of McLin Burnsed, P.A. was recently appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Fifth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. Florida's judicial selection system uses a nonpartisan nine-member commission in each circuit to locate, recruit, investigate, and evaluate applicants for judicial office. The Fifth Circuit covers parts of Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion & Sumter counties.
