Governmental Affairs: Redistricting Hearing in Sumter County July 13
The decennial process of drawing Florida's congressional, State Senate, and State House districts is underway. House Redistricting Chairman Will Weatherford and Senate Committee on Reapportionment Chair Don Gaetz have scheduled public hearings at locations throughout the state, including one at The Villages on Wednesday, July 13, from 8:00 AM until Noon at the Colony Cottage Center (510 Colony Boulevard).
Visit www.flsenate.gov/Redistricting for a list of all the public hearings and links to RSVP forms. Reservations are not required, but will help them prepare to seat everyone and to hear from everyone who wishes to speak.
To keep track of redistricting activities in Florida, visit the Senate (www.flsenate.gov/redistricting) and House (www.floridaredistricting.org) web pages. Both will be updated frequently with the latest information, schedules, records, maps, and plans.
