Sen. Hays to Speak at Legislative Luncheon June 8
 Florida Senator Alan Hays and Joshua Blake, Legislative Assistant for Rep. Marlene O'Toole, will recap the just-finished legislative session at the June Chamber Lunch Exchange. It will be presented by the chamber's Governmental Affairs Committee on Wednesday, June 8, 11:30am at the NASCAR RV Resort at Blueberry Hill, 6233 CR 609 (next to Walmart) in Bushnell.

Florida tourism was up in the first quarter of 2011, according to VisitFlorida. Preliminary estimates have Florida's first quarter tourism visitation up 3.3 percent from a year ago to 23.3 million travelers. Read More Here>>

 Session on Proposed Land Development Regulations The City of Wildwood Development Services Department will hold a public informational session on the staff working draft of the proposed Land Development Regulations (Code). Florida Reduces Unemployment Benefits, Tax Impact on Employers
Florida lawmakers are cutting unemployment benefits to blunt a massive increase in unemployment taxes that's looming for businesses. Companies were scheduled to pay a minimum of $206.55 per year in 2012, up from $72.10 this year. Under a bill passed by the legislature, they would save $32.10 per worker next year. Source: CNN.
