Poor IAQ Causes Major Health Problems
|
"Occupants of damp or moldy buildings have up to
75% greater risk of respiratory symptoms and asthma than occupants of
buildings with better indoor air quality, according to findings by the
World Health Organization (WHO).
The
organization published its first guidelines on indoor air quality on
July 21, specifically addressing issues related to dampness and mold.
They are the result of a rigorous two-year review of the currently
available science by 36 leading experts worldwide, coordinated by the
WHO Regional Office for Europe.
"As people
spend most of their daily lives in homes, offices, schools, health care
facilities or other buildings, the quality of the air they breathe
indoors is critical for their health and well-being," said Dr. Srdan
Matic, Unit Head, Noncommunicable Diseases and Environment at the

Realtors Can Now Offer An Eco-Friendly, Money Saving Solution To Property Owners Plagued By Mold
|
Certain people have minor allergic reactions to non-toxic mold, and once they leave the affected area they most likely recover with few serious side effects. However, if they have been exposed to the dangerous molds such as Stachybotrys or Chaetomium, they could suffer from a myriad of serious symptoms and illnesses such as chronic bronchitis, learning disabilities, mental deficiencies, heart problems, cancer, multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue, lupus, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple chemical sensitivity, bleeding lungs and much more.
Until now mold remediation was most often temporary, lengthy and costly, involving extensive demolition and the use of products toxic for people and the environment. Fortunately this is no longer the case.
Decongreen inc., has developed a protocol to kill mold using a non-toxic, EPA registered formulation. The solution kills mold, viruses, bacteria, fungi on contact. It is a total indoor air quality management system using a unique green technology. Even if demolition is necessary, the extent of it is dramatically reduced by the efficacy of the product, saving time and money. The process is short and so effective that the company offers up to 5-year warranty on all treated areas. This warranty is transferable to the next owner of the property.
As a Realtor to be able to offer the latest green technology on the market is important in many ways; your clients will appreciate your input and trust your judgment. The realty business is on the list of the biggest creator of carbon footprint, taking a step forward to a solution has just become easier.

A New Eco-friendly Solution Backed up by a Rigorous Protocol Means Bad News for Bed Bugs
|
Have those pesky tiny bugs finally met their match? Until now, to
curtail a bedbug infestation, most methods were time consuming, not
efficient and/or requiring heavy use of toxic products. In this new
"green" era, Decongreen Inc, has developed an
efficient protocol using formulations that are safe for people and pets
to treat any dwelling infested with the pest.
Largely eradicated as pests in the early 1940s, bed bugs have been
resurgent in the past decade to near epidemic proportions (amongst
industrialized nations) and have infested dwellings, businesses, and
institutions, etc. The National Pest Management Association reported a
71% increase in bed bugs calls between 2000 and 2005. A pest-management
company based in Charlotte, North Carolina, claimed that 25% of the 700
hotels they surveyed between 2002 and 2006 needed bed bugs treatment.
In 2003, a brother and sister staying at a Motel chain in Chicago were
awarded $372,000 in punitive damages after being bitten by bed bugs
during their stay. These are only a few of the reported cases since the
turn of the 21st century. The resurgence of infestations led the United
States Environmental Protection Agency to hold a National Bed Bug
Summit April 14-15, 2009.
Decongreen Inc. has developed an efficient, eco-friendly and lasting
solution to eradicate and control these pests. The efficacy of the product
has been tested by researchers in entomology at UCDavis. The product is
comprised of 2 different solutions: the first one has 100% kill success
after 4 hours of exposure on the mature specimens, the 2nd prevents the
complete development of the reproductive system in new nymphs, stopping
the cycle of new birth. The solutions are biodegradable and non-toxic
for people, pets and plants. The products are applied according to a
strict protocol designed to reach the most remote places possible.
Furniture, walls, baseboards, vents... get treated.
For the Hospitality Industry which has a high vulnerability due to
constant exposure to travelers, and an obligation to provide a safe
environment for their customers, this product could be a knight in
shining armor. Following Decongreen Inc.'s protocol, a hotel room can be
disinfected and released within 3 days, which is an excellent turn over
time for this kind of procedure. Saving time, money and keeping the
room's environment safe. As an added bonus the solutions also kills mold,
fungi, bacteria, viruses and remove odors.
