Breathe in the Season Charity Fashion Show

Aqua Fedora is hosting a fashion show and silent auction to benefit LUNGevity Foundation, a private organization that funds lung cancer.

The first 25 people to arrive will receive a Goody Bag, stuffed full of fun surprises including costmetics, jewelry, spa gift certificates, and coupons to local businesses! Endulge in the deliciousness that the chefs at The Balcony have to offer, along with delectible desserts from the Dessert Divas, sip some cocktails, and bid on some amazing silent auction items. 

 

When the show starts at 7:30, you will be the first to see what Aqua Fedora has in store for the holiday season! All styles will be available for purchase, and VIP ticketholders will receive 20% off their purchase (during night of event)! 10% of all clothing sales go towards LUNGevity, so shop to help save lives!

Santa Clause at the Cotton Exchange
Santa will be at the Cotton Exchange every Saturday from November 26 through December 17 from 12:00pm - 4:00pm, and Sundays (November 27 - December 18) from 1:00pm - 4:00pm, at his South Pole Station. Feel free to bring your camera to capture family moments!

Local authors will join families for the annual Gingerbread cottage making program! Due to popular demand there will be two groups of gingerbread cottage makers.

City of Wilmington Updates 

Upcoming Parking Changes:

In an effort to make downtown parking more fair, convenient and easy-to-use, City Council recently approved several changes to the parking program:

  • Effective December 1, attendants at the Market Street and Second Street Deck will collect payment from 7:00 am until 4:00 am, Thursday through Saturday.
  • In early 2012, when pay-in-lane stations are installed, the Market Street and Second Street Deck will collect payment 24 hours per day.
  • Effective January 1, the first hour in the city's parking decks will be free (currently the first 90 minutes are free).
  • Effective January 1, the daily maximum cost for parking in a deck will go up from $5 a day to $8 a day.
  • Effective January 1, the special event day rate, (Riverfest, AzaleaFest, July 4th and New Year's Eve) will be $7.
  • Effective January 1, the fine for on-street tickets will go up from $15 to $20.
Window Signs Update:

The moratorium on enforcement of the window sign regulations has been extended for another six months. This gives city staff more time to work with stakeholders on developing recommendations for changes to the rules. We will keep you posted on the upcoming opportunities for you to provide input.
