New Trolley Route
After receiving on-board feedback from downtown Wilmington businesses and organizations, Wave Transit will be modifying the trolley route on a trial basis to have trolleys operating in both directions.

"It is an outreach to the community. This is our way to serve Wilmington in an efficient manner," said Matthew Kunic, director of planning and development at Wave Transit. The decision will hinder route frequencies, but provide better options for reaching a final stop in a timely manner.

Starting Feb. 28, the Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. trolley will become a twenty-minute frequency route as opposed to the current ten-minute frequency route. Stop locations will not change.

The trial period will run for thirty days and has been strategically timed to improve routes before tourist season this summer, said Kunic. Wave Transit will provide passenger comment cards to receive feedback about the newly modified route during the trial period. The trolley route will resume its normal route schedule on March 28 while feedback and comments are taken into consideration for future improvements.
