Annual Spring Luncheon

Wilmington, NC:  Wilmington Downtown, Inc. (WDI) announces its Annual Spring Luncheon. This event is the main fundraiser for WDI, a non-profit organization advocating planned economic growth and development in the downtown Wilmington area, since 1977.
 
WHEN: Friday, March 5, 2010, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
 
WHERE: The Hilton Riverside Hotel in downtown Wilmington
 
WHO: In previous years, the event has been attended by more than 500 of Wilmington's top executives, businesspeople, merchants, and residents.
 
We are proud to announce that US Senator Kay Hagan will be our speaker at the event. 
 
For more than a decade, Senator Kay R. Hagan has worked for the people of North Carolina as a champion for working families, quality education, sound fiscal policy, and a clean environment. In the North Carolina State Senate, Senator Hagan earned a reputation as a commonsense hard-worker interested in results. As co-chair of the state Budget Committee, Senator Hagan made record investments in education, raised teacher pay, and increased the minimum wage, while cutting taxes and balancing five straight budgets. We look forward to the opportunity to share Senator Hagan's experiences with our community stakeholders at the event.
 
Executive Director John Hinnant says of the event, "WDI is excited to be continuing on our mission to advocate and promote downtown.  We are utilizing this event to announce several great initiatives that will lead downtown into the next year."
