Birkie 2011

The 2011 Birkie was the 2^nd coldest on record. Lots of frostbite and hypothermia. Extra layers and extra patience with skiing slow to warm-up were key for many skiers. Congrats to all of you who took part, and a special THANK YOU to the volunteers who worked all day in the below zero temps. The race is always a challenge of logistics and effort. Here's a nice shot of me, Joel Harrison, and some friends just 10' after the start line. That's me on the bottom. Gotta love it!
