Greetings!
First and foremost, we would like to thank all of our camp families for another wonderful summer. As you'll read in this newsletter it was a record breaking year for us, and we were honored to have your children and students with us during our 70th Anniversary. The 2011 camp staff (pictured above) worked hard to provide a musically supportive and comfortable environment for each camper. We hope that everyone enjoyed their time here at FSU and we look forward to having you with us again in 2012!
Sincerely, Dr. Steven N. Kelly, Camp Director FSU Summer Music Camps 850-644-9934 |

A Look Back at 2011Not only was 2011 our 70th Anniversary - but it was a record breaking year for the camps! 1531 campers attended from the US and abroad. We offered 14 camps (2 more then in 2010) and our instructional staff included music directors, conductors and composers from all over the nation. Perhaps the most exciting thing to happen in 2011 was our return to the newly renovated Ruby Diamond Concert Hall. Most of our campers were lucky enough to rehearse and perform in this state-of-the-art concert venue and new rehearsal hall, and we look forward to having RDCH as part of our camp facilities for many years to come. Our brand new Elementary Music Day Camp was an enormous success. We had over 40 children from grades K-3 join us for the first year of this introductory music camp and we hope to have a great turn out again next summer! Another new addition during 2011 included a Chamber Choir at Choral Ensemble Camp. The competition to participate in the choir was tough, as over 80% of the students at that camp auditioned for a spot! But in the end 22 students were selected to perform based on their audition and they gave a marvelous concert on the final day of camp. Congratulations to all who participated.
