Hotel Deal

Our friends at the DoubleTree Hotel have offered us a great rate for our families that are looking for a hotel room while in town.

 

Standard Rooms rate are

$89.00 plus tax.

 

The DoubleTree hotel is just up the street from the College of Music and is located at the 101 South Adams Street.

Chamber Choir
Audition Requirement Changes 

We are excited about the new addition to Choral Ensemble Camp - our Chamber Choir - which will be by audition only.   However, we have had some changes to the audition requirements from what is printed in the handbook. 

 

These are the NEW audition requirements for Chamber Choir:

 

1.  Choose a solo piece to sing.  Anything classical in nature is fine (no pop or musicals).  And if you are unable to prepare a classical solo, something as simple as "My Country Tis Of Thee" would also be fine.

 

(This can be the same song that you use for the optional private lesson audition too)

 

2.  In addition to the solo piece, prepare the attached exercise 

.  You will sing this exercise (quarter note equals 80) on 'ah' legato mezzo forte, forte, and piano; and staccato piano and mezzo forte; and staccato piano (quarter note equals 160).

Mixed Choir Music  

The Mixed Choir Music that all Choral Ensemble Campers will need to purchase on check-in day will cost $25.00.  This music is payable by cash or check.  Checks should be made payable to:  Beethoven & Company.


Memorial Day

The camp office will be closed on Monday, May 30 in observance of Memorial Day.

Camps are just around the corner now  - only 39 days until our first camp checks in!  We hope that you are as excited as we are.

We still have openings at most of our camps and registration is still open.   Considering convincing a friend to come with you!  All camps are still open except for the instruments listed below which have wait lists:

Handbook Corrections
Updates for Choral & Marching Band Leadership
We have had a couple of updates and changes to the Parent & Camper Handbook

1.  Choral Ensemble Camp -

The dates for the recitals (on page 24) are listed incorrectly. They should be as follows:

  • Thursday, June 16 - Honors Solo Recital
  • Friday, June 17 - Small Ensembles Recital
  • Saturday, June 18 - Final Choir Concert

The location for the Final Choir Concert has also changed.  This concert will take place in Opperman Music Hall.


2.  Marching Band Leadership Camp
The check in date under Marching Band Leadership Camp is printed incorrectly.  It should read:  Sunday, JULY 10.

Required Forms
After you register for camp, you will receive your camp handbook and the packet of required camp forms. 

Please return those forms as soon as possible to our office.  Things will go much faster for you on check-in day if we have received all of your forms prior to your arrival.

Other things to keep in mind when returning your forms:
  • ORDERING ITEMS

If you are buying a CD, photo, parking permit, airport shuttle or  extra night of house, the payment must be in a separate check from any balance payments you might be making on the tuition or housing charges.  Tuition and housing payment go to a different are of the University and must be in a separate check.

 

Please remember to include a check with your order form for any of the optional items.  If you return the form without a payment, we will have to return the order form to you.

 

Please add correctly - we have received many checks for items where the check was not for the correct amount.  If the payment on the check isn't exact, we will have to return the order form and check to you.

  • PRESCRIPTION INFORMATION

If the camper will be taking prescription or daily  medications while at camp, please be sure to include DETAILED, complete information with your forms.  This includes the medication name, dosage amount and frequency.  This is for your protection and will help our counselors provide your son or daughter with proper medical care.
