Who's the New Guy? "Wind"
Wind can already stand on the stump. | Doug and Amy recently took in "Wind" as a foster horse from MSPCA's Nevins Farm. Doug is in the process of rehabilitating him to make him a more adoptable horse. He is a handsome 15 hand six-year-old Arabian. You can check out his progress at Doug's website over the next few months. Doug and Amy hope to take in more horses from Nevins for rehabilitation in the future.

Trail Class Competitions
Are you interested in putting what you've learned about natural horsemanship to the test at a show? There are a few shows coming up nearby that have trail classes. Silver Heels Riding Club has a series of Pleasure shows this summer in Fremont, NH, that include a Trail class. The dates are June 6, June 27, July 25, August 8 and September 12. I believe this is a fairly popular show series and is considered challenging among the horse community in southern NH. Another show is N-Bar-H Riding Club's show in Barrington, NH. This is a much smaller, more local type of show and it's anyone's guess what the trail class will be like.
Massachusetts has a show with a Trail class--the ECHO Fun Show in Topsfield. It is on Saturday, August 7, at the Topsfield Horse Park. Two years ago the course was held in a wooded grove and was good for first timers. This show is popular, but very low key. They even have leadline for the trail class.
Please Note: This information is good as of May 15. Please check with the individual groups or websites for the most up-to-date information.
