Camp Methodios on Clement Pond
Lodge
Dear Friends of Fiddleheads Music Camp:
acoustic guitarWe are very excited to announce a new location for the 2010 Fiddleheads Acoustic Music Camp -- Camp Methodios on Clement Pond in Contoocook, New Hampshire. The 191-acre camp, located about 20 minutes west of Concord, N.H., offers a peaceful wooded setting and modern, flexible accommodations for camp attendees (bunkhouses or inn). There is a fully equipped dining hall and ample space for our workshops and Saturday evening concert. We think you will agree this is an excellent facility. When you see our brochure and website, you'll see that we have lowered some costs and kept our tuition rates the same as last year. We are trying to limit high rises in cost to both you and us, and hope you are pleased with our efforts. Camp will be held September 10-12, 2010.

As before, days at the camp will be filled with educational small group workshops and the evenings will be for performing, jamming and having fun! It will be a weekend of good music, good company, good food and lots of laughter. We hope you will be able to join us.

         Featured Guest Coaches
Joyce Andersen and Harvey Reid

Joyce Andersen and Harvey Reid

Our two featured guest coaches will be Joyce Andersen and Harvey Reid. Joyce taught at the camp a few years ago and returns this year with her husband Harvey Reid who is considered an icon in the guitar world. Regular camp attendees may remember Joyce's high-energy instruction that seemed to bring out the best in each student. We are very excited to have her back again this year by popular demand. Harvey is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist and has been called "one of the true treasures of American acoustic music" and "a giant of the steel strings."

        Staff Coaches

K coach
As always, we have fantastic staff coaches as well. All coaches are not only good musicians but excellent teachers as well and most have played in numerous bands of various styles. Some coaches scheduled to date are: Susie Burke; David Surrette; Seth Austen; Beverly Woods; and Steve Roy. Several other coaches have been invited, but are yet to be officially announced, so stay tuned! We are also in the process of inviting great musicians from the local area to join the jams on Friday and Saturday nights.

Band on Stage

If you are in a band, we are planning more specialized Band workshops this year to give you more coached band time during the day such as: Arranging, Harmony Singing, Songwriting, Sound Equipment, Getting Gigs, Recording, and Band Dynamics. We are also offering a band discount off the registration fee for bands registering three or more people. (Note: Check with us for our definition of a band.)
       Beginners Track

Also included again in the program this year is a special Beginners Track. We plan to enhance this track and will have dedicated instructors that will focus on: Playing by Ear; Making the Most of Practice Time; Jamming; and Basic Music Theory (I, IV, V chords). This truly is for the beginner -- almost no experience is needed!
