Hey Everyone!
I hope that all the mothers out there reading this had a fabulous day yesterday and were treated like a queen. I know I had a wonderful day enjoying the much anticipated warmer weather. This month I am excited to announce a brand new contest. On May 15th I will be posting three different cupcake designs and asking my subscribers and facebook friends to vote on which one they like best. The theme is spring and I have asked three companies, Trina's Cakes of Orangeville, The Sugar Garden of Coldwater, and A Cake Occasion of Newmarket to participate and be as creative as they like. I think you will be amazed at what they dream up, so please take a few seconds to vote! The winner will receive one year of free advertising with TakethePartyOutside.com!

Our April giveaway winner is Lisa Piellusch. Lisa is the winner of Basic Safari Birthday Party package generously donated by Jennifer Weaver of Party Safari ($165 Value).

Entertaining and funny - what motherhood should be about!

Me & Meg is a blog that originally started off just about motherhood. Me (Leigh) and my sister Meg have three kids each; ranging in age from six years old to sevenmonths. To say there is an endless flow of humiliating and hair-pulling moments is an understatement.
The very reason the blog came to be was because I was again outsmarted by my then 2.5 year old daughter. She was "napping" and when I went to check on her, it became very clear to me why she had been in her room so long; she had COVERED herself in Penaten: she was white. It looked like I had taken her to a professional and had her spray painted.
Both my sister and I have found blogging very cathartic. It's also a great way for us to chronicle everything that goes on in our lives (I can't remember one moment to the next, and that's without having a bottle glass of wine). We rarely touch on the truly sentimental moments, who wants to hear about how great I think my kids are?
Check out our daily musings at www.meandmeg.com . Enter to win a Winners gift card by leaving a comment on our blog with WINNERS in the comment box. Contest closes May 31, 2011.
Cheers, cheers
Leigh & Meg

STEPHANIE
YOUNG, INSPIRING & MOTIVATED!
| | |

My name is Stephanie Kremer and I am a Grade 12 student at St. Joan of Arc High School. Last year I applied for the Summer Company program and took the opportunity to open my own business. I contacted a co-ordinator that had opened up a youth internet cafe called the Blue Frog in Alliston because I thought that this location would be perfect to operate my "Stephie's" Smoothie Bar. I focused on creating smoothie recipes that were refreshing and healthy because they were made from real fruit, yogurt, honey and milk ingredients. I had five flavours, Strawberry Banana Blast, Peach Mango Mainia, Tropical Kiss, Orange Sunrise and Reese's Pieces. By the end of the summer I had also begun to sell lemonade and iced tea. I believe that I have the entrepreneurial spirit because since I was little I have always enjoyed being in a business environment. My parents owned several businesses in my lifetime. SnoBiz & Treats, a special event and festival food concession business, is the one that I enjoyed helping out at. The products we sell are tasty and fun; shaved ice sno-cones, ice blended lemonade and iced tea, ice coffee, popcorn, plain and stuffed pretzels, cotton candy and candy apples. I remember always wanting to do what my parents were doing, and helping with any small task I was able accomplish. Every year I would be more helpful, gain more experience and eventually I got the point where I was almost able to operate the business myself. I trained new staff, counted inventory, did cash, prepared food, served customers and even developed new recipes. This summer I will be operating SnoBiz & Treats mainly on my own to save up for my university education. The motivational factors that drive me to success are the high expectations I have for myself and doing something that I am passionate about. I have always worked hard at any jobs and enjoy keeping busy. I take pleasure in helping others and working in customer service. I also took care of kids after school for three years and enjoyed my time as their babysitter. My love for working at SnoBiz & Treats, along with interacting with children, gave me an idea. Why not provide services for events, get togethers or birthday parties? If anyone is interested in booking my service of providing fun treats such as snocones, cotton candy or candy apples, give me a call at (705) 424-7378, or contact me at skremer@hotmail.com.
