Spring Equinox is quickly approaching with progressively longer days to enjoy the Flathead Valley. Mountain snow levels are now at 97% of average after a steady accumulation of snow since the beginning of the New Year. Winter activities are still being enjoyed in the area. Whitefish Mountain Resort and Blacktail Mountain Ski Area will continue lift operations into early April. The Stumptown Ice Den is open through April. This will conclude the inaugural season of Glacier Nationals' hockey team, several adult & children's hockey leagues, figure skating and curling competitions.

Polson Bay Golf Course opened last week. The course lies adjacent to the southern shore of Flathead Lake is typically the first course to begin play each year. Glacier Sotheby's now has further representation in the southern Flathead Lake region with the addition of agents living in the Polson community.

There are numerous predictions on where the real estate market is heading locally as well as nationally. Newly constructed home starts have seen a slight increase in the past year in the area with anticipation of the trend continuing on a modest basis. Land sales are seeing some increase as well after a 3 year lull. Price modifications have led to the sales in most instances.
