Greetings!
In our June Newsletter we will address the area lakes in the north valley, including Whitefish, Blanchard, Lost Coon and Tally Lakes, as well as waterfront properties on the Whitefish and Stillwater Rivers. With the advent of summer we are focusing on Flathead Valley lakes in our July and August Newsletters.
The dream of owning a waterfront home is one that many have come to realize here in the Flathead. The waterfront listings featured in this newsletter are but a small slice of the opportunities available for private ownership the area waterways. Whether your interests are in boating and water skiing or tend to the quieter pursuits such as fishing, canoeing and kayaking, any of these properties will suit your desires.
There are as many different ways to access lake activities as there are activities. Many owners choose one of the shared access opportunities such as Mountain Harbor or Houston Point, where the cost of lakefront ownership is balanced with shared access among homeowners.
Finally, the lakes in the Flathead Valley are not just for land owners, as evident on Whitefish Lake with the popular City Beach and Les Mason Park just up the lake. For visitors, the popular Whitefish Lake State Park offers overnight accommodations for campers and trailers with beachfront sites going first.
When you get off the lake, remember the many other activities vying for your attention. The Whitefish Farmers Market happens every Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00pm at Depot Park near the train station. Also, check out the many summer activities available at the Whitefish Mountain Resort, where you can ride the chair lift to the top to meet your more athletic hiking visitors for cocktails, dinner and a moonlight ride back down.
Many residents and visitors alike argue that the best of Whitefish is embodied in the annual 4th of July fireworks display at City Beach. Whether you choose to watch the display from a beachside deck or jockey for the best position in a boat on the lake, the party starts early and goes on long after the last of the rockets red glare.
