Success Stories

Being There

When Tracy Foster returned from Vietnam, where she adopted her children, she couldn't forget the tearful faces of the children who remained in the orphanage was not something she could forget. Inspired to start a nonprofit to improve the lives of the orphans, Tracy turned to her local SCORE and got the help she needed.

"The SCORE website has a wonderful library of informative articles and links to help users establish a small business, or in our case, a small nonprofit. We attended an orientation and met with our counselor to discuss forming Project Being There. He guided us through the development of our business plan, reviewed our subsequent applications, and in September 2009 we became an official registered 501(c3) nonprofit." Find out more.
