Spring Art Show
Artwork by students from throughout the district will be on display from March 7 through April 10 at the Brookdale Library, 6125 Shingle Creek Pkwy, Brooklyn Center. An open house reception is Thursday, March 15, 4:30 - 6 p.m. with music accompaniment by the Robbinsdale Armstrong Chamber Orchestra.

Magnet School, Full-Day Kindergarten Application Deadline is 4 p.m. Thurs., March 1
Families interested in enrolling their child in either the School of Engineering and Arts (SEA) at Olson Elementary, which is the district's Science, Technology, Engineering Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) magnet, or Robbinsdale Spanish Immersion School (RSIS) for 2012-13 must complete and submit an application by 4 p.m. on Thurs., March 1. To apply for full-day kindergarten, full-day, fee-based Kindergarten Choice Program or full-day, tuition-free Kindergarten, families must complete and submit the Scholarship Application form by 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 1. Magnet school applications, Full-Day Kindergarten Scholarship Applications and Family Financial Determination Forms are available online by clicking here, and at all elementary schools, the Education Service Center and Early Childhood Screening. Applications are due by 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 1. ___________________________________________________________
Spring Orchestra Festival is March 4  The 27th annual Robbinsdale Area Schools Spring Orchestra Festival will be held at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, March 3 in the Robbinsdale Cooper High School Gymnasium. The event features more than 500 orchestra students from throughout the school district, including 4th, 5th and 6th grade orchestra students and the Robbinsdale Armstrong and Robbinsdale Cooper High School Chamber Orchestras. Guest conductor, Dr. Ruth Lin from Gustavus Adolphus College, will work with students as a big group on Saturday before the show. Students have been rehearsing works by Handel, Greig, Offenbach and U2 during January and February at their individual schools to prepare for this event. This event showcases our talented young orchestra students who are able to begin orchestra district-wide in fourth grade. There is no charge for the performance .

Cooper's Quill Wins More Awards
The Quill, the student newspaper of Robbinsdale Cooper High School has received many awards over the years. This year was no different! For the 2010-11 publication year, the Quill received the All-State Silver Award from the Minnesota High School Press Association. They also won a First Class Honor Rating for the 2010-11 publication year from the National Scholastic Press Association as well as several individual awards. Colin Dale won 2nd place in the Best Newspaper News Story category. Gary Nielsen won 1st place in the Best Newspaper Sports Story category, and was the Minnesota High School Publications Association (MHSPA)/MN Wild Event Winner for Best Story. Armstrong Wrestlers and Diver Head to State MeetsThree Robbinsdale Armstrong High School students are headed to the state meet in their respective sports after strong finishes at their sections over the weekend. Max Mason finished third at sections in diving and qualified for the State meet on March 1st - 3rd at the University of Minnesota. Wrestlers Justin Wheaton (220 pound) and Matt Koch (152 pound) won their sections and will compete at the state Wrestling meet, March 1st - 3rd at the Xcel Center. Good luck!

| AHS Senior Named 2012 Triple A Winner
 Anna Hjerpe, a senior at Robbinsdale Armstrong High School,has been honored by the Minnesota State High School League withthe Region 6AA Triple A (AAA) Award. This is an award given to students for their outstanding accomplishments in academics, the arts, and athletics. Anna will be honored as the Region 6AA Triple A Award winner during ceremonies at the Boys' State Basketball Tournament on March 24. ___________________________________________________________
Cooper Boys Swim and Dive Team Named Academic Section Champs
Congratulations to the Robbinsdale Cooper High School Boys Swim and Dive team for being named the academic section champions. This honor came on the heels of Cooper's Academic Pep Fest, which was held Feb. 24 at Cooper High School to recognize student success in all areas academic. ___________________________________________________________
Armstrong Quiz Bowl Team Headed to Nationals
Congratulations to the Robbinsdale Armstrong High School Quiz Bowl team. Because of their strong fifth place finishes in both the University of Minnesota Quiz Bowl Invitational Tournament in December, and the Minnesota High School Quiz Bowl League Finals on February 16th, they are headed to the National Academic Quiz Tournament in Atlanta, Georgia, later this spring. The fifth place finish in the League finals was out of 108 teams participating from 36 schools.

Bonfire Kid Pack Benefit Performance
The National Lutheran Choir will be performing a benefit concert on Sat., March 10, 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, 6700 46th Place N. in Crystal to promote Bonfire Kid Pack. "Bonfire" is a group which exists to promote the sharing of ideas and enhance collaboration between ELCA congregations in our area of the metro which includes First Lutheran Church of Crystal, House of Hope, and St. James! One in five households with children are food insecure. Bonfire Kid Pack supplies snacks to kids for the weekend when school is not in session.
