Everyday Hero Kerry Evans

Water Safety Instructor at Plymouth Middle School
How long with school district: 31 years
What I like best about my job: When a non-swimmer succeeds
What other employees might not understand about what I do: It is hot, hard work. I try to teach every student how to be safe in and around the water. I worry every summer when I hear reports of kids drowning because of poor decisions when they are in the water. So far in 38 years none of them have been taught by me. All my students know very well how to be safe by the time we finish the year.
