Claire Johnson - Community Spotlight Award winner
Each week, WCCO High School Sports Rally, along with Sieben, Grose, Von Holtum, and Carey turn the spotlight on high school students in the community who are giving back. Claire Johnson, Cooper High School freshman, was awarded the Community Spotlight Award last Friday for doing just that - giving back to the community. As a young child in the hospital, she received a blanket and has carried that small gesture of kindness with her for years. She wants to give back and "bring a little love from home" to children in the hospital. For almost a year, Claire has been making blankets to hand out to kids at Children's Hospital. She has 15 blankets to go to reach her goal of 50. "I'm just excited to see the kids' faces when they get the blankets," she said.
