School Notice

GRAD Re-tests Postponed

 

Due to the State of Minnesota government shutdown all testing is postponed until further notice. 


Math, Reading and Writing GRAD testing for July 12, 13 and 19 is postponed. 


The state government shutdown does not affect regular summer school.  Summer school will continue as planned.

 

If you have any questions regarding GRAD re-tests, please contact the district's Department of Research, Evaluation and Assessment at      763-504-8103 or 763-504-8114.

Armstrong Ranks Among Best High Schools in the Nation! AHS logo


Robbinsdale Armstrong High School ranked in the top high schools nationally and ninth in the state of Minnesota on the High School Challenge List, recently published by the Washington Post. 


 "Students of all readiness levels can and will benefit from challenging curriculum and assessments that better prepare them for post-secondary success," stated Superintendent Aldo Sicoli, "and our district is taking that belief seriously.  The payoff for students is tremendous."

Two-Year CAPP Arts Grant Awarded to Robbinsdale Area Schools

 

CAPPRobbinsdale Area Schools has been selected by the Board of Directors of the Perpich Center for Arts Education to participate in the Comprehensive Arts Planning Program (CAPP).  The district is one of only six districts statewide selected for this two-year program.   "This is great news," said Gayle Walkowiak, Executive Director of Teaching and Learning, and co-director of CAPP.  "Our district is proud of its rich and extensive arts programming, and this grant will allow us to continue that fine tradition for all of our students."

School Board Approves Updated Policies

 

The School Board approved three updated policies at the June 20 meeting:  Network/Internet Acceptable Use Policy (524); School Weapons (514); and Bullying Prohibition Policy (514). The Bullying Prohibition Policy contains more language on cyber bullying, and also contains language on staff training and reporting.  The board also approved the new Student Handbook which is based upon recent national research on best practices, including research done in conjunction with Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), which is being implemented throughout the district schools.

AHS BBQArmstrong High School Backyard Picnic

On Tuesday, August 23 from 5 - 8 p.m., families from Armstrong, Plymouth, Neill, Noble, RSIS, Sonnesyn and Zachary Lane are invited  to a backyard picnic at Armstrong High School on the back lawn. This is the second year this community-building event has taken place.  Come and enjoy a casual hotdog dinner and a evening with old and new friends.
