Make a pledge to Hartford Habitat through
 Birdies for Charity!

On average, the PGA TOUR professionals make between 1,500-2,000 birdies during the tournament.

A birdie is a score of one stroke better than par for any golf hole. If an individual pledges 1 cent and 1,500 birdies are made, than that individual will be asked to make a donation of $15.00 to Hartford Habitat.

To make your pledge, visit

Hartford Habitat's

 fundraising page.

Worth Mentioning!

Hartford Public Library's ArtWalk is featuring paintings by artist Nancy Masters. The "Boys and their Toys" will be featured through May 22, 2011.

Mrs. Masters is connected to Hartford Habitat through her husband, Ron Masters, who is a long-term weekly construction volunteer, also known as a Weekday Saint.

South Marshall Street Groundbreaking - Hartford Habitat

NBC 30 CT News Clip at the South Marshall Street Groundbreaking

  Greetings!

Hartford Habitat's staff and board had a very busy April and the fun continues.

Over the course of the last four weeks, our Affiliate held a groundbreaking ceremony on South Marshall (see photos), honored our volunteers and welcome the Gayle-Dean family into their home on West Clay Street in Hartford.

As we said, the fun continues. Please enjoy this edition of Habitat Happenings!

In partnership,

The Staff at Hartford Habitat

Kudos to Our Weekday Saints & Crew Leaders

Celebrating National Volunteer Week

8H2P8962

Hartford Habitat counts on construction volunteers from near and far to build at the worksites.  However, there is a loyal group of construction volunteers known as the Weekday Saints and Crew Leaders who build almost all year-round.

In April, Hartford Habitat celebrated their contribution of time and talent with a special luncheon.

Many of our Saints are retired professionals from all different walks of life.  Our Crew Leaders volunteer on a weekend rotation and assist our construction staff with volunteer groups at the worksites.

Hartford Habitat Welcomes Five New Board Members

On Tuesday April 12, Hartford Habitat's Board of Directors voted to elect five new individuals into its membership.

These new members are: Endia DeCordova from Manchester Community College in Manchester, David Reilly from Cornerstone Real Estate Advisors, Rev. Sara Salomons from Asylum Hill Congregational Church in Hartford, Doris Sugarman from the Connecticut Forum in Hartford, and returning long time volunteer and Board member Tom Trumble from Private Capital Group, LLC in West Hartford.

Congratulations to our Board of Directors on its growth and visionary leadership.
