| Habitat Happenings e-newsletter | April 2010 |
|
Greetings!
Here is our April edition of Habitat Happenings! We hope you take time to join us at one of our events, even if it's just to witness the many great things we accomplish as we continue "building more than a house."
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those groups that will be joining us next week during the Women Build and during the 2010 Build-a-thon! The excitement is building and we can't wait to see everyone participating at the sites.
Enjoy your e-newsletter. Happy Spring!!!! |

National Women Build Week - May 1 through May 9
On May 1st women volunteers from the Greater Hartford Community will work with the Habitat staff to help build three new homes on Sexton Street in New Britain.
The Mother's Day timeframe was selected for its significance to many volunteers, as families with children make up a staggering number of those in need of adequate housing. More than 12 million children -one in six- live in poverty housing in the United States alone. To date, women volunteers have built nearly 1,700 Habitat houses nationwide. Locally, Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity has built 6 Women Build Houses.
