SPRING BREAK SUPERSTARS
Thanks To Our Collegiate
Challenge Groups

More than 25 students from Emma Willard, Minnesota State University and SUNY Brockport came to volunteer with Hartford Habitat during their Spring breaks.  These young volunteers were participants in the Collegiate Challenge, Habitat for Humanity's year round alternative break program.  The students had a blast painting and doing construction in houses on Guilford Street.  Thank you all so much for all your help!  We really appreciate it!

YOUTH INTERFAITH EVENT
Quick Recap

Over 100 youth gathered at the Berlin Mosque on March 14th in support of the House of Abraham project.  The event reinforced the slogan "Building More Than a House" by gathering youth of different faiths to promote diversity and peace building.

Participants were exposed to three different faiths: Christian, Jewish and Muslim as they learned the importance of "home", participated in ice breakers and crafted fleece blankets which will be given to the Christie family when they move into the second House of Abraham home.

HARTFORD HABITAT RECOGNIZED
Tithe Award

The work of Habitat for Humanity in smaller developing countries is possible through the support of Habitat's Tithe Program.  Over our 20 years of existence, our Affiliate has donated over $500,000 to the building efforts around the world.

Hartford Habitat has been recognized by Habitat for Humanity International as one of the 72 affiliates to ever achieve this milestone. We are very proud to be a part of such a wonderful effort!  Thank you and congratulations to all past and present staff, board members, and donors for making this possible.
CarlTELLING HABITAT'S STORY
From our Senior Construction Supervisor, The Rev. Carl F. Reynolds:

"I have been with HAHFH for more than eight years now, and from the beginning I have offered my services to the faith communities in coming to your worship and telling the Habitat story.  I prefer to make this presentation as a sermon partly because I like to tell the story as a faithful story, emphasizing that Habitat is a ministry, and as a sermon, the way most people can be reached.  I would also be willing to do a "coffee hour', or "adult education" program.

If you are interested, please contact me directly via email at
cfree351@cox.net or at my Hartford Habitat cell phone at 860-989-9020.

Hope to hear from you."
Carl
