Greetings!

LynnWelcome to this first e-newsletter from At Home on the Sound, with news about our efforts to bring an aging-in-place program to our area. Please be assured we will keep your contact information confidential. However, if you wish to unsubscribe, you may do so by following the link above.

Over the past few months we achieved several milestones:

  • We formalized our structure, elected a board of directors and officers and updated the business plan.
  • We received our 501(c)(3)  certification so your donations are tax-deductible.
  • We launched our new website and began this, our new e-newsletter.

At Home on the Sound owes its existence to two people: Rob Waldman and Lois Steinberg, and so I'm delighted to bring you the news that Lois will be honored October 27 by the Center for Aging in Place Support. Tickets are $25 and can be obtained by contacting Amy Paul, 914.980.8379.

This fall we are holding meetings in homes and venues throughout the community. If you would like a speaker to come to your organization, or if you would be willing to hold a meeting in your home, please let us know by calling 833-3816.

We are also looking for volunteers for a variety of roles. If you are interested, please join us at one of the meetings described below.

Sincerely,

Lynn Reichgott, President

State Grants Received
Thanks to the hard work of State Senator Suzi Oppenheimer and Assemblyman George Latimer, At Home on the Sound has been awarded $30,000 in grants from the State of New York.

"We are extremely grateful to our representatives in Albany for obtaining these funds that are particularly needed in this, our start-up phase," said Lynn Reichgott, president of At Home on the Sound. "Both Sen. Oppenheimer and Assemblyman Latimer have been supportive of At Home on the Sound from the very beginning. They understand that helping our residents stay in their homes as they age is beneficial to everyone in the community."

Senator Suzi Oppenheimer of Mamaroneck designated At Home on the Sound, for a legislative grant of $20,000, while State Assemblyman George Latimer obtained approval for a $10,000 grant to help the organization begin its volunteer driver and visitor program
