3 out of 4 people opposed to broadcast charge Just over three quarters of people do not agree with the government's proposal for a new household broadcasting charge to replace the current TV licence. That's according to 300 respondents to a poll on MyHome.ie. The results of the straw poll found that 76% did not agree with the proposed new charge, which was revealed last week by Minister for Communications Pat Rabbitte.

Are you exempt from the household charge? Homeowners throughout Ireland have until March 31st to register for the controversial new household charge. However, you could be entitled to a waiver and not even know it with houses in certain unfinished housing estates exempt from the €100 charge. Homes on two categories of estates will qualify for a household charge waiver in 2012 so you could be entitled to one.
